Heritage Plant - plantain Aim: Speed painting To achieve a quick painting the research does need to be complete first.  Colours used; lemon yellow, cobalt blue, ultramarine, violet, titanium white, cadmium orange and permanent rose. I used a textured roller to spread the blobs of paint over the surface paper and allowed it to dry. A palette knife was used to draw on the textured surface. Posca pens were used to complete the work Time taken: 2 hours, but that does not include drying time.

Challenge  Create a collage from a painting of a plant or plants. When the work is dry, tear or cut the painting up to make a ‘jigsaw’. Construct a smaller image which is rhythmical and vibrant. Photograph of buttercups  Use the photo to do a simple acrylic painting. Simplified painting in vibrant colours Finished collage - smaller, yes, vibrant, yes, but rhythmical ? I am told it has more energy, do you agree?
